Chhote Chhote Peg has just just been released and it’s another song from ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ with gorgeous lenghas, mindless boozing and yes partying, while dancing to yes another remake of a hit song. Every song that seems to come out lately is a remake – where has the time and creativity gone in Bollywood music. Creating something that is unique to a film that is timeless and people remember it by like ‘Chammak Challo’ for instance. Chhote Chhote Peg is a remake of ‘Tote Tote Ho Gaya’ from the 2000 film ‘Bichhoo.
The first paragraph talks about liking whisky, which for me (I don’t) and creating a piece to this dance felt like I was promoting drinking (which I don’t) but I have to say with Yo Yo Honey Singh’s rap and Neha Kakkar and Navraj Hans' voices, the song makes you want to get up and Dance. As a choreographer this opens the door to fusing western styles with the cheesy chorus.
The video clip begins with Nushrat in what looks like a sparkling swimsuit and heels dancing in a glass bathtub pretty much singing about being a ‘bad girl’ who likes whisky. Then come the boys with flasks in their back pockets walking into what looks like a club and all three of them are dancing in time with each other - impressive considering they have been drinking lots!
Francesca McMillan from Fusion Beats Dance has choreographed a piece to this dance incorporating, Hip Hop, Funk and the cheesiness of Bollywood. Check out the Dance Cover below.
So if you want to have a go, Francesca has also created a step by step tutorial to the above dance cover. This dance is aimed at Intermediate to Advanced dancers or for those Beginners that want a challenge.
Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is a film about Karthik warning his friend, played by Sunny, against falling in love with Nushrat because she seems too good to be true. It releases on February 9 so in the meantime enjoy watching glimpses of the story through these songs.
